The Newsletter for March features our BelzonaŽ solution for Tanks and Containment Areas (TCC). A routine inspection of a large storage tank found the base of the tank at the chine angle to be corroded due to water ingress. The corrosion was so extensive that if not addressed would lead to complete replacement of the tank floor. BelzonaŽ provided a cost effective alternative solution to prevent water ingress and reduce further tank base corrosion. The product and repair costs for the solution were only 10% of the estimated replacement costs. By utilizing an applied cost effective BelzonaŽ repair and protection system the tank base can be sealed and weatherproofed, preventing moisture ingress into under-floor areas. BelzonaŽ 3111 (Flexible Membrane) was applied after the surface was prepared. If the corrosion damage is left untreated through-wall defects may occur, resulting in detrimental product loss and costly implications including: environmental damage, clean-up, disposal expense, downtime, and safety hazards. These costly after-effects can quickly and simply be prevented using the BelzonaŽ tank base sealing solution. The final results: water sealed out, corrosion stopped, and costly replacement avoided.

BELZONAŽ FACTS:
This company had previously fitted the Belzona System to 8 of their carbon steel tanks and has now fitted it to 3 of their stainless steel tanks. The system is now the chosen one for this customer and a program is in place to apply to further tanks on-site.
